How do I calibrate Mozilla Thunderbird to scan all incoming and outcoming emails with my PC's virus protection software? Does it allow this function? I use AVG Free Edition.

    Cheers!

Go to Tools/Options/Privacy/AntiVirus---check allow anti-virus agents etc

The Privacy collapsable menu in Advanced doesn't have that option.

You don't set up Thunderbird to scan incoming mail, you set up AVG to scan incoming mail. AVG (free & paid) has a configuration panel for doing it.

Found this tutorial that will take you through the steps for setting up AVG to work with Thunderbird if that helps?
