Time of day goes wrong constantly.

I'm not sure if this really a hardware issue or not so feel free to move this to a more appropriate forum.

The time on my computer goes off continuously (usually fast). I can re-set it 3 times day or more and it still goes off.

I once heard that this indicates that my motherboard or CPU is about to die. Is this true? Should I take action?

You probably just need to replace the battery on the motherboard. It's less than $5.

    Thanks muchly.

No problem. You should be able to find it at pharmacies and other places that carry batteries.

Yes, sounds like your CMOS battery has died, just pop a new one in.
