Titan Shield Antispyware ruined me

    I recently received popups in the lower right hand corner of my screen notifying me (as if it was a windows alert) that my computer was infected with spyware and redirecting to the website antispywarebox DOT com. It seems like a false site. I have Spybot S&D, Ad-aware, and McAfree anti-virus software and NONE of them are working to get rid of it. I have tried hijackthis also. I also get the notification that my computer is shutting down with a one minute count down. I have seen that others have had this same spyware/malware/virus, but cannot find what they have done to rid themselves of this evil. ANYONE know exactly?

    Hi and Welcome, I know these instructions will take some time but they are well worth doing them correctly in order to remove your malware as quick as possible, do not skip any steps and if any cannot be run please advise why.

    Please follow these standard cleaning procedures which are necessary for us to provide you support. Also there are steps included for installing, running, and posting HijackThis logs as attachments.

    - Run ALL the steps in this Sticky thread READ & RUN ME FIRST Before Asking for Support

    Make sure you check version numbers and get all updates.


    After doing ALL of the above you still have a problem make sure you have booted to normal mode and run the steps in the below link to properly use HijackThis and attach a log:

    Downloading, Installing, and Running HijackThis


    When you return to make your next post, make sure you attach the following logs and that you have run these scans in the following order too (these scans are covered in steps 6 & 7 of the READ & RUN ME sticky)
    • Bitdefender
    • Panda Scan
    • HijackThis

    Actually I have recently added Titanshield into the below removal procedure so it would be a better idea to run it first before doing the READ & RUN ME.

    It the above procedures does not help, or if you still have other malware problems then follow the directions Halo gave to you.
