tivo VS Dishnetwork DVR

    Dishnetwork is much cheaper than cable, so I switched,
    however, dish forces me to abadon my souped up, /tivo-premiere http://www.tivo.com/products/tivo-premiere/index.html
    (souped up cause I added 1 TB of memory to it) and they force me to rent/use their dvr

    is there a way to just use my tivo?
    from what I can tell by looking at the 2 boxes, the difference is the DISH box has an antenna cord that that comes in from the satellite dish thats outside
