    How to DM to eliminate bad sectors from HDD?

    Quess you might try partitioning that sector ...did you try error checking on that drive?
    (Right click on c drive, properties, tools error checking - check both boxes - restart.)

    You could give SpinRite a go but it would probably be cheaper to buy a new drive.
