Too High?

    Pentium 4 1700
    bios says my cpu temp is 86 degrees centigrade.
    Is this too high?


    Comp does crash when CPU usage is high for a little while.

    i thought mine got hot at 55(thunderbird)
    ever run toast.exe? try it and place some bacon & eggs either side of your fried chips.

    Yeah, im thinking that reading must be wrong, but I dunno! what motherboard do you have? 85C is the top temp for Athlons (which probably is quite different) but IMX Intel chips run cooler than AMD ones.

    You may want to invest in a better HS/F (or cooler) to improve stability
