tool bar

    basic stuff I know, but why did my tool bar decided it wanted to move to the right hand side of the screen, ages ago I used to be able to click and drag it back. no big problem just a pain in the bum. oh yes its XP

    :confused Do you mean the task bar on the XP desktop or the tool bar in IE?

    If the latter, I always set up with a menu bar, command bar, and status bar. Gives me what I use and doesn't take up much screen.

    But I'm not certain what you are asking. :confused

    HI Tony

    Was the Taskbar unlocked? if it is, then its easy to move it by accident, or knowing the foibles of Windows, it may move on its own at boot.

    Just right click it and make sure its ticked as "lock the taskbar"


    But if its been moved and then re-locked, need to just untick and drag it to bottom and lock again.


    What Service Pack to XP is it you have?
    Do you run any skinning applications or have any custom themes installed (mainly by hacking the uxtheme.dll or an uxtheme patcher app)?

    Hi Halo I'm using service pack 2
    i had downloaded an MP3 audio converter dont know if it was a skinning application, anyway I dumped it and rebooted put the task bar back in its rightful place at the bottom and locked it, thanks a million. apple pie and cream on its way.
