    Hi Guys, :wave

I am using a software tool that can monitor the status of a particular network server and its firewall status.

but I am just curious if there is any tool or way to check the if internet is working on that network or not.

I am not sure of your question.
Are you asking how to check if a remote computer has an internet connection?
What OS, WiFi or wired and what software you currently use would help us help you.

My job to monitor restaurant's network from the head office. I am currently using a simple pc software called easynetmonitor software which (uses internet) monitors the site server and sonicwall. The software send pings to the network (at timed intervals) to check if the server and sonicwall are working or not and alerts me if they are down.

While this tool is great to get the status of the network (as there is internet on LAN), I have no idea if the customers are able to connect to wifi.

Many times, customers complain that the wifi is showing either limited or takes too long to connect to the restaurant wifi network.

At this time I will just restart the wifi routers(CISCO small business) and then they will be able to connect to wifi network.

My question is : IS there a tool which can alert me when the users are unable to connect to wifi network.

    network setup:

MY computer -> HO Server -> HO Sonicwall <!!INTERNET SERVICE PROVIDER!!> Site A Sonic wall -> Site A Server and other devices in the network.

( where "->" is Connected to)
(dell Sonic wall is configured as firewall)
    (HO Head office)

You are beyond what I know.
I do a remote login to test, but I am sure there is a better way.

If that Cisco switch can send SNMP messages to you then you could implement an icinga monitoring solution: free: https://www.icinga.org/ We use to use this quite a bit, but moved to Zabbix. http://www.zabbix.com/

You can setup a trap that once that cisco switch has an issue, it can page/text/email you that it is having a problem.
