Hi, I would appreciate any advice you could give me. About a week or so ago, I got a notice (covering 95% of my laptop screen) that says "all my files have been encrypted" and I have to go through a certain number of steps in order to gain access to them. I spoke to some professional guy that says that they most likely are "holding my files hostage for ransom" so to speak. I have not yet taken any 'steps' that Tor Browser has outlined to remedy the situation. Hope someone can help. Thanks in advance.

Do you know what ransomware is on your system?

Hi, it's called Tor Browser. Thanks for your quick reply. I will be going out of town in a few hours, so won't be online.

That is a new form of ransomware and there is as yet no cure for it. Your only choices are to pay the ransom or reformat and reinstall your OS.
