I own a toshiba sattlelite laptop.

The power plug and circuit on the actual board blew out!(Smoked)
Although my ac adaptor is still good (Output is fine) it's useless to charge or to run the laptop!

The laptop will still run, boot, etc- via the battery(lasts 2 hrs/ charge) but I can not charge it thru the machine. I know I can find an external charger, but...

What would be ideal would be an ac powered dc adaptor that would plug directly into the battery socket.(9point socket)

    Any ideas?

ideal? i would say contacting Toshiba or the dealer you bought the laptop from and trying to get an RMA.

hmm... You may contact TD to see if there's anything they would do since its the fault of the laptop, not you.

I would have no ability in giving advice on how to hard wire a power source to the board. Hopefully someone else here would be able to assist further. Good luck!
