toshiba satellite power problems

im having a problem with my toshiba laptop.

the battery light goes out and discharges even tho its still plugged into the mains...

is it just because its old?

or can i do something about it?

anyway any ideas would be appreciated.

Old laptop batteries can do strange things toward the end of their lives. It's probably time for a replacement. When you purchase the new battery, be sure you can return it just in case it turns out that the battery isn't the problem....
