The other day I tried to get on oovoo to webchat, when I called somebody my webcam would not start it said "no webcam found". I then tried to use the cam on facebook, same problem. I tried to start the webcam application but when i clicked it, nothing happened... I rebooted, tried to open the app again, and the same thing occurred, nothing. Did a little research and decided to remove and reinstall the app, but when i tried to download the webcam app (which was for the Satellite L675) from the Toshiba website It would unpack everything but the installer would not pop up. Also if it helps i took out the 4g of RAM from the labtop and put 8g in (ive installed RAM many times before and yes i grounded myself, and yes the camera worked for a couple days after I put the RAM in)
And yes I did system restore. If anyone would like to take a crack at it I would greatly appreciate it.

Are you sure you installed the right driver version for your version of windows/
have you tried updating the driver from the device manager.

That's what I was thinking, but nothing related to the Webcam (as far as I know) is showing up in device manager, I tried downloading the proper drivers for it but after it gets done unpacking everything the installer never shows up.

Toshiba Satellite L675, runs windows 7 64-bit. And the version of the application I was using was up-to-date. It just stopped working out of the blue. let me know if you need anymore info as this is a very agonizing situation.

Have you tried a system restore?

And uninstall any "fake" webcams like webcam max etc... if installed.

Yes I ran system restore as far back as possible, and there were no "fake" camera apps. I almost want to backup my important files and just do a "restore to out of box state" Only thing is that's a big pain in the rear. Keep the suggestions coming tho!

Check the BIOS to be sure the webcam is enabled.
I've disabled mine at the BIOS level because I don't want anyone turning them on remotely.

I went into the BIOS it was enabled so i disabled it, rebooted then re enabled it, still no dice. My Main problem is i cant get the software to work, without toshiba webcam application the webcam will not function and the application wont execute. i tried uninstalling it and reinstalling it, the installer is supposed to launch after everything unpacks but after unpacking, nothing happens.

Consider the possibility that the webcam has died. You restored to earlier points and the system still can't find the webcam.
You might have to buy an external webcam or if you are up to it, dismantle the laptop.
