I'm hoping there is a simple solution before running through the steps in http://forums.majorgeeks.com/showthread.php?t=35407

I run A² (A Squared) and it finds Trace.File.HackerWacker in C:\windows\system32\dwspy32.dll.

A Squared attempts to fix it ( and I have deleted the .dll on previous occasions) but it comes back.

Any suggestions on what program loads it, or how I can delete it for good.
I haven't searched the Registry yet for entries. Bazza

I would be running through the guide Bazza, just to make sure.

Especially if you dont have software installed called SpyWorks, which has a dll, named dwspy32.dll

    Thanks Halo, I think. :D
    I don't have SpyWorks installed.:p
Have done some minor checking in my Registry and deleted some stuff.
Will run A² again, after I log off today.
Then the guide, I guess. :p Bazza

Yes this would be a good idea! Especially since you say it keeps coming back. What did you delete from the registry?

I deleted entries relating to dwspy.dll, but didn't keep a record of what I deleted.
Stupid me. Sorry.
I will run " the guide ". Bazza

Okay! Just attach the logs when you finish! Is it causing any noticeable problems other than the message from A-Squared.

My apologies, chaslang. I don't visit Malware very often. I guess that is good news for me. Still haven't run the Malware guide as yet. But will do. Have a great 2007 and I hope it is not as busy for you (and the Malware folk) as 2006 was. Bazza

Thanks for getting back to us Bazza! And thanks, but one thing we know from experience is that malware never takes a holiday/vacation. :(
