This is about a trade on another forum I visit. I sent a couple of items out via USPS on 9/21/08 all I asked for was for them to send the $amount on the envelope to me. I have a PM saying they got it on 9/29/08. I got nothing. And we are talking about conus shipping via the USPS. How long do I wait before I get ugly with them? I sent a PM tonight with all our PM's and dates, asking what is up.

And yeah, it is only a couple of bucks, but if you can't get that right, you are over your head. So how long do you wait before you ding the heck out of their heat?

The site I sold/gave it on does not play around with trollls.

Well the person needed a couple of DVI adapters. I just want to make sure when/if I go agfter them, I have waited long enough. I think I have.

This is not about the money. It is about the trader. I don't play.

    Let's see what the PM's give me...:p

Rule two: Unless you actually need the money you just lost, you bow your head in shame and cut your losses. If it's only a few dollars, it's not worth getting ugly over. :)

Got a PM, 'check is in the mail'. ;) I will wait 3 days. Then, well, it just gets nasty. That particular forum is very good about non payment. I think they have a ban hammer set aside just for the trading section. :-D

People actually still use that? Pitiful, if a person isn't honest they are nothing.

The problem is when the check actually IS in the mail! LOL What are you supposed to say?

Given how my mail runs, I'd give it four days before going off the deep end. Three should be sufficient for a piece of first class mail to get from anywhere in CONUS to anywhere else in CONUS, but I've had mail get lost from ten miles away for a week.

Thanks guys, really just blowing off some steam. If makes me angry when someone screws around on a trading section. There are a few reasons I think he has not sent the check, and why a check I don't know. All I charged the guy was postage.... That is printed on the envelope by the USPS!

But if I don't get the 2 bucks or whatever, I will report him as a bad trader so someone does not get screwed out of some real money or equipment.

Sorry you got burned, you're doing a nice thing for someone, just asking for postage. I don't know why they'd send a check for a few bucks? Hopefully you get the money though. Btw, you have a PM. :)

Thank you very much OverCooked! Seems some shenanigans are afoot here at MajorGeeks! :-D Now that I think about it, I think I can 'upgrade' your stuff a little bit. Perhaps a 2.something CPU would work for your upgrade. Will PM you the details when I get my hands on the stuff.

Ahh the future of America. I think the person is around 20 years old, they say they are in college. Does not matter. They simply got confused and put my address as the return address... Well, that is what the PM I got from them said.

But the payment has been sent! Yawn. I need to read up on this 'heat' thing. Will do so this weekend.

They couldn't address the envelope? That college education is really working out for them. They probably thought they could get away w/o sending payment, being that it was only two bucks. However, you're right. What if next time its even more money? They always have to start somewhere.

Got a check for the shipping and a few extra dollars today. Check is dated October 2nd. Mailed on October 8th. Well, if it clears the bank, issue is resolved. May ding them on the heatware site for slow pay.

One thing to keep in mind if you trade or sell stuff, is communication. The last time I checked, email stamps were still free...
