Hi, the computer I used to host Itunes on has dies on me and I need to load my ipod up to a new windows 7 machine without all my files being wipped if i sync to the new itunes. I've done some googling and the solution seems to be to use a third party utility to rip everything off the ipod(nano) then load your files into itunes and then sync the ipod after that. Does that sound right?

    Few questions:

Does it miss homemade videos made with the video camera? 'Cause it says 'videos' but those could be videos form itunes. If I remember correctly your home videos are stored somewhere else in the itunes librarythe other video conent. I have very important wedding and baby videos I don't want to loose here. Actually, is there any way to get to these videos off the ipod without itunes?

One program is called Sharepod but I'm not sure if that is the best one. On the page that recommends it, it says it doesn't label videos properly as the only drawback but that's an important point for me so am wondering if there are better known options for this.

    thanks for any feedback, Robert.

Sharepod is awesome for this, and if you have any thing purchased from itunes you will be able to redowload those purchases.
