Okay, here's the scenario. At present I am using a 40 gig standard HDD, but have just purchased a 100 gig SATA HDD, so how would I go about transferring data from the 40 to the 100? Once the data is transfered, the 40 gig will be removed from the machine and used as a spare. I have not yet installed the SATA drive. My MB has SATA capabilities, so the installation shouldn't be too difficult....I hope!! I'm venturing into new territory here, so any help would be greatly appreicated!!! THANX!!!!

If it is a Maxtor drive, the install guide and MaxBlast 3 will walk you right thru it. If not, go to the HD Mftr website and most have detailed instruction and DL's to help you...Good Luck!

Ironically, it IS a Maxtor drive. However, it is now MaxBlast4. So the programs on the MaxBlast will transfer all the data for me? That's great. And thanks for such a rapid reply. I've never used the MaxBlast disc and I didn't realize that it could do that. I knew it would format and partion, but that's as far as my knowledge went. Thank-you Riwawi, I really appreicate the info and your time!!!:)
