    Hey guys,

I'm trying to transfer files from a Win98SE machine to XP Home. They see each other on my network, but it tells me access is denied from one machine to the other when trying to view files. I also tried directly connecting them with an ethernet cable. Do you have any other ideas, or know what I'm doing wrong?

    Thanks,
    Cody

Are you sharing the directory you want to transfer files from?

I am sharing directories on the XP machine, but still can't view them. Is there a way to enable sharing on Win98? I want to from 98 to XP obviously, not vice versa.

Are you on the 98 machine and trying to push the files to XP or the other way around?

Without getting into alot of permissions stuff, share the directory on the 98 machine. Then go to the XP machine and bring the files to XP. OH BTW....if your running SP2 on the XP maxchine, turn the firewall off.
