Hi all I would like to transfer or play videos from my VCR to my PC so I can save and record (preserve) via the DVD/RW and finally play them on my DVD player (not PC).

    Can anyone provide advice on:

    Hardware: I believe I need a S-Video lead
    Software: Have Nero 6, CloneDVD2
    ?????????: anything I have overlooked

    My sys specs are:
    Intel P4E 3.0GHz 1Mb L2 Cache (800FSB socket 478 Prescott CPU with HT)
    Mobo; SiS-661FX
    2x512MB PC3200 DDR SDRAM
    1x80GB HDD 7200 RPM
    ATI Radeon 9200 Pro (RV280) 256 MB
Optical Drive (LG): HL-DT-ST DVDRAM GSA-4163B; 16XDual Layer Burner

Ask if any further info needed

goto videohelp.com they have guides for *all* video related projects..
In short you need a capture card (video in), capture software (winVCR or like) then authoring (nero vision, ect...)
Or buy a cheap standalone DVDR... I say that because using the PC in intense and sometimes the video / audio slip out of sync .. especially on large files.. and for large files, hopefully your on a NTFS compatible OS.

    Thats it in a nutshell....
