I get these popups for tribalfusion with both majorgeeks.com and myspaceccom. The website is also on my restricted site list, presumably from spyware blaster or spybot. Anyways, I read on this forum that you use them to advertise? Is there no way to prevent the popups?

We use them to advertise, but you are getting them from somewhere else, not us. We stopped running limited popups after our first year. I dont get them on MYSpace either, so not sure where your getting them from.

Majorgeeks runs no popups of any kind.

Thank you. Do you know how I can remove them manually? I'm assuming it's spyware.

    Hi whicky :)
It could well indeed be spy ware have you run a spy ware scan like spy bot or windows defender ? If not i would do so the tools can all be found here

I ran spybot, adware removal, and no luck. I just downloaded Windows Defender. I may try again in safe mode, but this will probably not make a difference since I can run the software before windows starts up. I also use spyware blaster.

    Hi whicky :)
Don't forget to make sure that your pop up blocker in IE / firefox is set correctly

    Regards

It blocks the popups, and even if it didn't, the website is blocked. But apparently, it's spyware because MG doesn't do popups.

I'm still getting the popups. I ran Windows Defender in safe mode, but not help. Tomorrow, I will try to run a search for "tribalfusion", and I will scour the internet. When I run Trendmicro tools(House Call), I immediately get "no threats" found. I also see an error icon in th status bar. In fact, I see that icon on this page too.

BTW, I'm getting tribalfusion both on my desktop and laptop.

I thought spyhunter was free, and I had no luck searching for the file on my laptop.

OK, I've discovered that the popups only occur with my Avant Browser, and not internet explorer alone.

Turning off popup blocker has fixed the issue. I also see banners now, and I have no error icons in my status bar. I will contact Avant and inform them of the problem.

Try out Firefox as well, I use Maxthon instead of Avant now, it blocks well. You also want to consider doing some scans. Ad-Aware or Spybot maybe. We added Prevx lately, you might like it: http://www.majorgeeks.com/Prevx1_d5293.html
