This is elludeing me. Trigems website is a waste of time. Windows uses a different driver everytime I try and get the correct one;in fact, windows installed 7 drivers for this floppy. i have the unloaded vdx files installed. I'm searching for an old samsung trigem sfd-321b floppy driver. Any help appreciated.

well, I'm somewhat at a loss, the standard FDD driver should work, unless this is an old scsi style FDD or one that attaches to a soundcard. If it attaches to a soundcard then the soundcard drivers should install it. You may want to try the emachines website (www.e4me.com) They shared many of the same mainboards. Do need a few more bits of information though
    1. What version of windows.
    2. What make/model mainboard or computer.
What you are actually looking for is more likely the driver for the controller on the board, not the drive itself. SO if you can get any numbers from the mainboard itself then they would probably be much more help than the drive model number.

    info

    Hello,
There just seems to be no specific driver for it. I run win98(all updates) and installed the notorious missing vdx files. It still wants too load several different drivers for this floppy. Generic type XX ect. None are the correct driver, they are all for removable floppys;however, they do work just not optimally and that causes problems. The mobo is a Trigem delhi3. I've searched emachines they are almost useless in the support area. Trigem is even worse, no help there. I obtained the mobo manual from a guy who publishes hard to find manuals. I'm running an AMD K6 2+ 550 at 601.35, 256ram, 20.4g 7200 Caviar, onboard "AGP" 3D Rage IIc 8mb, onboard Crystal 3D. I just upgraded all that from a pitiful Cyrix 333(250+83), Trigem 2g 5400 and 128mb sdram. So, what is old tech for you guys is new too me and far better than what I had. The chipset is via apollo mvp3 host and vt82c596x south. The ide controller is vendor 1106h, device 0571h, revision 06h and subsystem all 0s h. This is my experiment into computer overclocking and building. Thank you kindly for your time. Regards.

    replaced

    Hello,
Yes, I just replaced it and its working perfect now. The problem was the molded front panel on this emachines. I just cut it out and it now looks like a regular rectangular bay with a new floppy. They are so cheap it was probably the best way to go. Thanks for your time. Regards.

well, that was my next suggestion, good to see you got it working. I just wish that FDD's would die off finally.

    yeah

    Hello,
Yeah, modern programs like Norton still back up with FDD. Probably when cd/rw is standard in all new pcs. Thanks. Regards,
