Trip to the Zoo!

Hi, I thought I would share some photos of the residents in Edinburgh Zoo
We went last week to celebrate our daughter's 3rd Birthday :hyper

So who can guess what type of Big Bird this is?

I love zoos. I used to be at the San Diego Zoo, more often than the animals. LOL Great thread, Grumbles

Those Red Panda's are adorable, just about all babies are, except birds- UGH

 

Have you ever been to the SD wild animal park? I've been wanting to go for years. Last time we went to the SD zoo the next day my son had a peanut lodged in his nose. rolleyes

 

It might be an ape or a monkey? Dunno though ?

Would it be a Steller’s sea eagle considering its yellow beak...looks like an eagle and a rather large bird...perhaps still a juvenile?

 

You seem to be having an absolutely great zoo up there in Edinburgh!

 

Only once, Darlene. It had just been built when I left SD. I don't think it was then what it is now. Your son sounds like the kind of kid I was. LOL
I'd do anything to get my mom to show that frantic look on her face that I loved so much. Never tried the peanut, but there is always next visit. :booger

 

I figured he was imitating the elephants.

 

I was not paying attention to the name of the bird, more pre-occupied with showing the wee one the "Big Birdy"
