I've followed the steps in the Malware Removal guide and also looked at similar threads on the site. My machine still seems to be infected with Troj Virtum-Gen. All of the scans come back clean except Webroot System Analyzer and the computer is working fine. I'm just worried that there are still traces of the malware on my desktop. I've attached the logs.

    Welcome to Major Geeks!

Not according to your logs. However you did not follow the instructions in the READ & RUN ME and download the current version of MGtools. You used a copy that is more than a year out of date. Where did you get this from ( please answer this question)? You need to download and use the current version and attach a new log.

What problem are you currently having? The only item I see thus far that is most likely malware is a driver seen in your ComboFix log. The below is what I'm referring too:

    S3 yeddef;YEDDEF driver;c:\windows\system32\Drivers\yeddef.sys --> c:\windows\system32\Drivers\yeddef.sys [?]

Thanks for responding to my post!!

When I was going through the *Read & Run Me First*, I wasn't a member of MajorGeeks.com. So, I found a mgtools.exe file and downloaded it. I assumed that it was up-to-date. That was a mistake on my part.

I can't upload a new log because the machine isn't in my possession anymore. I was looking at it for someone else. She told me that everything seemed to be working well though. Thanks again for your response.

    You're welcome.

Yes the only place it should ever be downloaded from is the link given in the READ & RUN ME. That is the only authorized download point and it is the one that is always current.

Well if you do get the PC back or see this person again, the below final instructions should be followed.

If you are not having any other malware problems, it is time to do our final steps:
    1. We recommend you keep SUPERAntiSpyware and Malwarebytes Anti-Malware for scanning/removal of malware. Unless you purchase them, they provide no protection. They do not use any significant amount of resources ( except a little disk space ) until you run a scan.
    2. If we had you use ComboFix, uninstall ComboFix (This uninstall will only work as written if you installed ComboFix on your Desktop like we requested.)
      • Click START then RUN and enter the below into the run box and then click OK. Note the quotes are required
      • "%userprofile%\Desktop\combofix" /u
        • Notes: The space between the combofix" and the /u, it must be there.
        • This will uninstall ComboFix and also reset hidden files and folders settings back to Windows defaults.
      • Delete the C:\combofix folder from combofix (if it exists)
    3. Any other miscellaneous tools we may have had you install or download can be uninstalled and deleted.
    4. If running Vista, it is time to make sure you have reenabled UAC by double clicking on the C:\MGtools\enableUAC.reg file and allowing it to be added to the registry.
    5. Go to add/remove programs and uninstall HijackThis.
    6. You can delete the C:\MGtools folder and the C:\MGtools.exe file. You can also delete the C:\MGlogs.zip
    7. If you are running Vista, Windows XP or Windows ME, do the below:
      • Refer to the cleaning procedures in step 3 the READ ME for your Window version and see the instructions to Disable System Restore which will flush your Restore Points.
      • Then reboot and Enable System Restore to create a new clean Restore Point.
    8. After doing the above, you should work thru the below link:
