    I have 'inherited' an old(ish) computer which was, according to reports, "a bit slow". It turned out to have multiple infections and no working anti-virus. AVG was installed but there were only files, no functioning protection. I have tried to get the thing working again, but now Avast! tells me that it can't update, the computer still freezes constantly (or has 'Program not responding') and everything is SLOW. I adjusted the RAM setting (sorry, forgotten how) but to no avail. I'm sure that there is still some infection slowing the thing down.
    Thank you for your help.

    Not finding much in the way of malware. Let's do this:

    Rerun RogueKiller and have it fix this:
    Code:
    ¤¤¤ Scheduled tasks : 1 ¤¤¤
    [V1][SUSP PATH] At1.job : C:\DOCUME~1\ADMINI~1\APPLIC~1\DSite\UPDATE~1\UPDATE~1.EXE - /Check [x] -> FOUND
    Use windows explorer to find and delete:
    C:\WINDOWS\SYSTEM32\DRIVERS\xufjvaxo.sys

    Rerun Hitman and have it fix all it found.

    You need to toggle system restore to remove those items.

    What other issues are you still having?
