Trojan.FakeAlert; stuck at step 6a

My computer is running Windows XP Professional. I have Trojan.FakeAlert (and madybe other infections?).I am unable to access my control panel and my user rights have been compromised due to this trojan and/or virus.

I started the Malware Removal Process listed on this forum and am now at Step 6a. Every time I try to run Panda Activescan, Internet Explorer crashes. (I ran it successfully on this computer previously). I have IE6. I have tried to run it in both safe mode (first) and normal mode. Please advise.

Skip Panda and continue on with the rest of the steps. It may be possible to pick up the Panda scan later.

I moved on as advised and have just finished step 7. Step 8 says to toggle system restore after I am sure all malware problems have been removed. SInce I am still getting the fake alert message(Warning! Potential Spyware Operation!) it doesn't look like I am clear of the malware yet. Should I post my logs or repeat any steps? Toggle system restore? (I still have no control panel. )

Please post any of the below logs you could get. Do not toggle system restore!

• CounterSpy
• AVG Antispyware log - ONLY IF NEEDED you were not able to run CounterSpy
• Bitdefender - from step 6
• Panda Scan - from step 6
• runkeys.txt - the log from GetRunKey.bat
• newfiles.txt - the log from ShowNew.bat
• HijackThis
