    Double-click RogueKiller.exe to run. (Vista/7 right-click and select Run as Administrator)
    When it opens, press the Scan button
    Now click the Registry tab and locate these detections:

    • [RUN][SUSP PATH] HKLM\[...]\Run : TabbtnEx (C:\Documents and Settings\Sandra Morton\Local Settings\Application Data\Microsoft\Windows\3265\TabbtnEx.exe) -> FOUND
      [RUN][Rans.Gendarm] HKLM\[...]\Run : rasmxs (C:\Documents and Settings\Gavin Morton\Local Settings\Application Data\Microsoft\Windows\799\rasmxs.exe) -> FOUND
      [HJ DESK] HKLM\[...]\NewStartPanel : {20D04FE0-3AEA-1069-A2D8-08002B30309D} (1) -> FOUND
    Place a checkmark each of these items, leave the others unchecked.
    Now press the Delete button.

    Now go to the DNS tab and have it fix these items:
    [DNS] HKLM\[...]\ControlSet001\Services\Interfaces\{34F9335D-8629-40BE-AB44-87F89726F0EC} : NameServer (192.231.203.132,192.231.203.3) -> FOUND
    [DNS] HKLM\[...]\ControlSet003\Services\Interfaces\{34F9335D-8629-40BE-AB44-87F89726F0EC} : NameServer (192.231.203.132,192.231.203.3) -> FOUND

    Now click the Files/folders tab and locate these detections:

    • [ZeroAccess][FILE] Desktop.ini : C:\WINDOWS\Assembly\GAC\Desktop.ini --> FOUND
      [ZeroAccess][FILE] n : C:\RECYCLER\S-1-5-21-3701434596-1411452982-4161040855-1005\$b8ff4e0c5e178dfc224a38a90e979207\n --> FOUND
      [ZeroAccess][FILE] @ : C:\RECYCLER\S-1-5-21-3701434596-1411452982-4161040855-1005\$b8ff4e0c5e178dfc224a38a90e979207\@ --> FOUND
      [ZeroAccess][FOLDER] U : C:\RECYCLER\S-1-5-21-3701434596-1411452982-4161040855-1005\$b8ff4e0c5e178dfc224a38a90e979207\U --> FOUND
      [ZeroAccess][FOLDER] L : C:\RECYCLER\S-1-5-21-3701434596-1411452982-4161040855-1005\$b8ff4e0c5e178dfc224a38a90e979207\L --> FOUND
    Place a checkmark each of these items, leave the others unchecked.
    Now press the Delete button.
    When it is finished, there will be a log on your desktop called: RKreport[2].txt
    Attach RKreport[2].txt to your next message. (How to attach)
    Do not reboot your computer yet.

    Now rescan with Hitman and have it fix what it found.

    Now copy just the bold text below to notepad (Do not include any space above the word REGEDIT). Save it as fixME.reg to your desktop. Be sure the "Save as" type is set to "all files" Once you have saved it double click it and allow it to merge with the registry.
    Make sure that you tell me if you receive a success message about adding the aboveto the registry. If you do not get a success message, it definitely did not work.

    Now use windows explorer to find and delete:
    C:\Documents and Settings\Sandra Morton\Local Settings\Application Data\Microsoft\Windows\3265
    C:\Documents and Settings\Gavin Morton\Local Settings\Application Data\Microsoft\Windows\799

    Now rescan with both RogueKiller and Hitman and attach those logs as well.

    Now run the C:\MGtools\GetLogs.bat file by double clicking on it (Note: if using Vista or Win7, don't double click, use right click and select Run As Administrator).Make sure that you watch for the license agreement for TrendMicro HijackThis and click on the Accept button TWICE to accept ( yes twice ).
    Then attach the below logs:
    * C:\MGlogs.zip
    Make sure you tell me how things are working now!

    Thanks for helping TimW!

    Ok this is what I did ...

    Ran RogueKiller
    - clicked fix DNS for second step (wasn't sure about this one)
    - On Files tab could not checkmark them but selected them and pressed delete button (not sure if that did anything)
    - Also couldn't find RECYCLE stuff on Files tab anymore? (maybe I ran it incorrectly)
    - got several logs so wondering whether I did this correctly (see RKreport[2-5].zip)
    Rescanned with Hitman
    - fixed: TabbtnEx.exe -> Deleted
    - asked me to reboot which I did (not sure if your comment to not reboot was for the whole procedure or just RogueKiller?)
    - Saved log (HitmanPro_20121101_0834.log)
    Ran scan again to see what it did (RKreport[6].txt)
    Ran fixME.reg and got success message
    Removed folders as requested
    Reran RogueKiller scan (RKreport[7].txt)
    Reran HitmanPro (HitmanPro_20121101_0902.log)
    Ran GetLogs.bat (had to disable firewall to run this)
    Bit early to tell if there are still issues but certainly has removed one issue AVG was reporting

    Logs are attached:

    Disable your AV protection software. Then rescan with RogueKiller.

    Click the DNS tab and fix these:
    Code:
    DNS] HKLM\[...]\ControlSet001\Services\Interfaces\{34F9335D-8629-40BE-AB44-87F89726F0EC} : NameServer (192.231.203.132,192.231.203.3) -> FOUND
    [DNS] HKLM\[...]\ControlSet003\Services\Interfaces\{34F9335D-8629-40BE-AB44-87F89726F0EC} : NameServer (192.231.203.132,192.231.203.3) -> FOUND
    Then click the Files/folders tab and locate these detections:

    • [ZeroAccess][FILE] Desktop.ini : C:\WINDOWS\Assembly\GAC\Desktop.ini --> FOUND
    Place a checkmark each of these items, leave the others unchecked.
    Now press the Delete button.
    When it is finished, there will be a log on your desktop called: RKreport[2].txt
    Attach RKreport[2].txt to your next message. (How to attach)

    Attach that log and then re-run RogueKiller and attach the new log as well.

    Thanks again TimW!

    This time I got a clean log when I was done (RKreport[11].txt).

    I was a little confused by the instructions because the RougeKiller I am running (different version 8.2.1.0?) doesn't have check boxes on the "Files" tab. So I ended up unchecking the boxes in the registry and clicking on the desktop.ini item before clicking "Delete".

    Anyway it seem to do the job.

    Logs are attached. Do you think I am clean now?

    Please also download MBRCheck to your desktop
    • Double click MBRCheck.exe to run (vista and Win 7 right click and select Run as Administrator)
    • It will show a Black screen with some information that will contain either the below line if no problem is found:
      • Done! Press ENTER to exit...
    • Or you will see more information like below if a problem is found:
      • Found non-standard or infected MBR.
      • Enter 'Y' and hit ENTER for more options, or 'N' to exit:
    • Either way, just choose to exit the program at this point since we want to see only the scan results to begin with.
    • MBRCheck will create a log named similar to MBRCheck_07.16.10_00.32.33.txt which is random based on date and time.
    • Attach this log to your next message.

    Thanks TimW

    I ran MBRCheck and it all looks good (log attached). I have also done a full computer scan with no problems reported (AVG and MB Anti-Malware).

    Thanks

    Looks good.

    If you are not having any other malware problems, it is time to do our final steps:
    1. We recommend you keep Malwarebytes Anti-Malware for scanning/removal of malware. You can uninstall RogueKiller and HitManPro.
    2. Go back to step 6 of the READ ME and renable your Disk Emulation software with Defogger if you had disabled it.
    3. Any other miscellaneous tools we may have had you install or download can be uninstalled and deleted.
    4. If running Vista or Win 7, it is time to make sure you have reenabled UAC by double clicking on the C:\MGtools\enableUAC.reg file and allowing it to be added to the registry.
    5. Go to add/remove programs and uninstall HijackThis.
    6. Goto the C:\MGtools folder and find the MGclean.bat file. Double click on this file to run this cleanup program that will remove files and folders
      related to MGtools and some other items from our cleaning procedures.
    7. After doing the above, you should work thru the below link:
    Malware removal from a National Chain = $149
    Malware removal from MajorGeeks = $0
