    Hey guys,

No surprises here, a nasty one at that. I've ran through the malware tutorials and all seemed well for a few hours. Then the problems returned. Oddly enough every bit of software i have recognizes it, but nothing can crack it. Anything you guys can do to help is more than appreciated, what you guys do here is wonderful. Thanks in advance, here are my logs.

    Welcome to Major Geeks!

Your logs actually indicate that you are clean. What actual malware problems are you still having?

You do need to do the below 3 steps which were all requested in step 1 of the READ & RUN ME so that we can continue with other miscellaneous cleanup.

    1. Run MSconfig and put your PC into Normal Startup mode
    2. Reboot after doing the above.
    3. Now uninstall all of the below
      • J2SE Runtime Environment 5.0 Update 7
      • Java(TM) 6 Update 11
      • Java(TM) 6 Update 2
      • Viewpoint Media Player
Now run this Disable/Remove Windows Messenger to remove Windows Messenger. Do not confuse Windows Messenger with MSN Messenger because they are not the same. Windows Messenger is a frequent cause of popups.

Now run the C:\MGtools\GetLogs.bat file by double clicking on it (Note: if using Vista, don't double click, use right click and select Run As Administrator).

Now attach the new C:\MGlogs.zip file

Thank you for the prompt reply!

It seems somehow I did miss that part of the run first and read me tutorial. I'm not certain how i missed that. As it stands, everything is running well! No returns found of vundo or the generic 12.

I had originally gotten another vundo instance after doing the initial Run First and Read Me detected, however, I can't find a trace of it at this point. It seems you're methods are fantastic ; ]

I just completed the next steps per your request and here is my new log. Thanks again guys for all your wonderful work!

Your logs are clean. Sorry about this but I missed editing out a line from my fix and had you uninstall Java(TM) 6 Update 11 which is the current version by mistake. You can redownload and install using the below link.

    Sun Java Runtime Environment

If you are not having any other malware problems, it is time to do our final steps:
    1. We recommed you keep SUPERAntiSpyware and Malwarebytes Anti-Malware for scanning/removal of malware. Unless you purchase them, they provide no protection. They do not use any significant amount of resources ( except a little disk space ) until you run a scan.
    2. If we had you use ComboFix, uninstall ComboFix (This uninstall will only work as written if you installed ComboFix on your Desktop like we requested.)
      • Click START then RUN and enter the below into the run box and then click OK. Note the quotes are required
      • "%userprofile%\Desktop\combofix" /u
        • Notes: The space between the combofix" and the /u, it must be there.
        • This will uninstall ComboFix and also reset hidden files and folders settings back to Windows defaults.
      • Delete the C:\combofix folder from combofix (if it exists)
    3. Any other miscellaneous tools we may have had you install or download can be uninstalled and deleted.
    4. If running Vista, it is time to make sure you have reenabled UAC by double clicking on the C:\MGtools\enableUAC.reg file and allowing it to be added to the registry.
    5. Go to add/remove programs and uninstall HijackThis.
    6. You can delete the C:\MGtools folder and the C:\MGtools.exe file. You can also delete the C:\MGlogs.zip
    7. If you are running Vista, Windows XP or Windows ME, do the below:
      • Refer to the cleaning steps in the READ ME for your Window version and see the steps to Disable System Restore which will flush your Restore Points.
      • Then reboot and Enable System Restore to create a new clean Restore Point.
    8. After doing the above, you should work thru the below link:

Haha, It was noticed shortly after the uninstall, no worries on my end. I have taken the final steps in the process and all remains well.

Can't thank you enough Chaslang and the MG team for what you guys do!
