    Hi,

This is my first time so sorry if I get anything wrong.

I run a site and 2 people over the last 4 months have said that I have a Trojan horse on it. The site has had nearly 2 million visitors in that time so i would have thought more people would complain if there was a problem but I'm trying to be safe.

The first person said The name of the virus is "Exploit-MhtRedir.gen" and the specific file name is "Stats5[1].htm"

The second said "Currently this site has a Trojan horse aun-0011[1].exe"

I've looked for these files and downloaded the site and scaned it with mcafee and spyware doctor and found nothing.

I would appreciate it if anyone can advise me on what to do next?

    Thanks,

    Jade

Whose PC or server is it? Have them run scans.

Who has the ability to check all the files? If you do not, there is very little we can do to help you.

    Who created the website?

Its my site, I created it, and the server is dedicated and located with and hired from valueweb.com.

The site in question is 1001-hairstyles.com

I can access all html and picture files relating to that site and I have access to the control panels for the server and site. I understand that there are other files on the server relating to its operating system and control panel, I lack the expertise to look at those.

These problems have been highlighted by 2 visitors to that site.

The site gets 15,000 visitors perday and only 2 complaints ever so I am not totally convinced there is a trojan at all but it is my livleyhood so I have to be sure.

If you do not own the server, there is no way you are going to be able to look at operating system files. As pointed out in the links I gave you to look at, it could be possible that the server does not have all the Microsoft Updates and patches installed.

It would be earier to debug if you new which link the users were clicking on when they found these problems. Maybe then you could try to repeat it. It could even be that they clicked on links that took them outside of your site.
