Please help with a trojan infection. Here are the details of my computer I my efforts to correct the problem.

I have a Dell Dimension 4600 with a Pentium 4 and 512 MB of RAM. I use Microsoft Windows XP 2002 Home Edition with Service Pack 2. Windows is set to receive automatic updates. I also have McAfee Security Center with Virsu Scan, Firewall and Privacy Service.

The other night I what appeared to be a Trojan attack commenced and a McAffe window popped up and recommended an immediate scan. I performed the scan and it identified three files that could not be deleted, quarantined or cleaned. After that I panicked a bit and went to the Read and Run me first sticky and only ran Bitdefender in normal mode. Attached is the report in file bddefender1.txt. This scan appeared to find three problem files, but couldn't fix one of the them.

The next day I more carefully ran the sticky and performed the recommended scans in safe mode. None of the scans in Section 5 of the sticky found any problems. I then ran Bitdefender, attached is the report from the second scan (bdscan2.txt). Next I ran the Panda Active Scan, attached are the results (activescan.txt). Finally I ran the Trojan Scan at WindowSecurity.com and while it did not allow for a report to be saved, it found this: Trojan:win32.Imiserv.c

Today, I ran Hijack This as directed in the sticky and attached is the report.

    Any help would be appreciated.

    Thanks for the advice.

    1) Did not find Lycos or Sidesearch in Add/Remove Programs

    2) I deleted the four files you listed.

    3) I ran Spy Sweeper, Ewido Security Suite, and a fresh HijackThis scan.

    4) Attached are the reports from the three scans listed above.

    5) Also, I saved the Bitdefender reports again as .txt files. Sorry, but I was able to view the files on Notepad.

If I need to re-run Bitdefender, please adivse. Thanks again for the help
