Trojan.JS.Offensive

My neighbour has this virus and can't get into his computer. What should he do? I'm writing this on my own computer and he's just freaking out about this. Is there anything he can do guys?

Please provide more details.

- what OS?
- can he boot at all? In safe mode? In normal boot mode?
- do other user accounts work (if there are any)
- if he can boot, can he connect to the internet? If yes, then run the READ & RUN ME FIRST Before Asking for Support sticky thread.

His os is windows 98.He can't boot in safe mode or normal mode. There are no other user accounts. The internet is out of the question as we don't think it is safe for his puter right now. He didn't get the virus directly from the net. A friend(and I use the term loosely) brought over a disk with a game on it that was infected! kaboom. I have a list of the keys and values it adds to the registry. Is there any way to get in there and delete them. I can get to a dos prompt.

If you cannot boot, you cannot get on the internet anyway!

You could try making a boot disk on another PC that you could use. Some of these have DOS based antivirus applications.
