Trojan system32/killVBS.vbs

I think I have managed to remove this trojan, I have done several scans in safe mode all of which are now 'high risk' free.

I would still like to do a destructive restore the PC has many glitches:
Loss of cursor when switching between users
Can no longer run Mozilla 'error Mozilla is already running'
Can not write to E drive (USB pen) error 'doc is write proptected'
40G Hard drive is 32G full, yet I see more than 10G being used
Internet explorer can not set a home page.

All docs and pics, etc are already backed up and I have origin copies of XP and office.

I have tried to install a new copy of XP, but so far I have only repaired it. I have tried Loading it in safe mode, boot mode and all other avenues before XP loads normally. This was suggested by HP help desk, said there was no way to do this once Xp had booted up normally.

If I set the PC to boot of the CD , then Load XP press START, RUN is there a command which will wipe the HD allowing a reinstall of XP?
