Trojan,urgent,i need professional help.

    Ok heres the info:I have a laptop(windows xp pro)(I dont have another computer or a windows cd,so i cant format anything,all i can is to hope for good programs)Im using Speedupmypc,spyeraser and registrybooster,i used AVG and spybot but they are slow and inefficient.The trojan totally corrupted my Disk drive D: i lost about 17gb of stuff,I still cant use D: when i try to open it it says its corrupted,the trojan tryes to switch my homepage sometimes to some fake adresses that claim to be google and such,i was able to completely delete the file that was marked as a trojan but alot of tmp files cant be erased and they always come back,and theyre freaking me out,i read in these forums for similar file names and they were actually,related to the same virus.The weird temp files are named such:
    2 that i cant delete are in C:/WINDOWS
    fa56d7ec.$$$
    bca4e2da.$$$ (for some reason these two files are hidden,can they be related to windows?)
    There are some that i can delete,but they always come back,located in C:/Documents and settings/My user/Local settings/Temp
    One that i cant delete is:
    CB82C842.TMP

    Basically,ive read about some Hijackthis and MGTools in here,i hope those are good cause i NEED a program that i can rely on to absolutely annhialate the virus from my pc,cause most programs ive used,that are sold for high prices dont do jack,they erase the "virus" but the background files are left and they do a havoc on the computer when you dont even know it,and one day your computer just doesnt work anymore,ive experienced that ALOT,and i want something 100%,something that erases EVERYTHING thats even 1% related to the virus so that it doesnt have a chance of duplicatin itself and redownloading itself,i hope that with the help of Majorgeek forums i can achieve that,now i hope someone reads this thread and helps me.

    Some questions too:
    Can trojans act as keyloggers stealing info from my pc?
    What are the best anti virus/anti spyware programs out there?(free if possible)
    Should i run virus checks with internet unplugged so the virus couldnt redownload itself by some evil ways?
    What are .tmp files used for?
    Will i ever get my computer free from this virus? :/

    My computer is seriously starting to slow up and i just had the worst thing i can have...the internet explorer bar flash,the last time i had a virus with that,i sayd goodbye to my whole harddrive,this thing usually saves info of what you currently were working on while it flashes and sends it to the host of the virus,and the host can send anything onto my computer,and this time i dont know what file is causing this,can someone PLEASE help me it totally makes me sick that some freak is knowing what im doing,if someone knows,can they tell me how to find out whats the IP of the place that the virus is contacting to?I wanna kill that guy...
    Oh and also,for some reason i cant activate the XP firewall,can someone tell me what might be the reason? it says that:due to an unidentified problem,windows cant run windows firewall settings

    Please follow the instructions in the below link and attach the requested logs when you finish these instructions. If something does not run, write down the info to explain to us later but keep on going. Do not assume that because one step does not work that they all will not.

    The first and last have nothing to do with protecting you from or finding malware. And SpyEraser is extremely low on the list of tools you should have for malware removal. I'm not sure how much it has improved but last year it was even considered a danger. See and older review: http://www.pcmag.com/article2/0,1759,2091004,00.asp I think newer reviews barely give it an average rating.

    No such program exists and it never will. That is why this forum (and many others) exist.

    • Yes trojans can steal your information. It depends on which trojan and what its purpose is.
    • There is no clear cut best antivrus program but your will find the free ones listed in the below link to be more than adeqate especially if you follow the instructions this link:
    • You can run them with or without being connected. If you run into problems getting some malware removed while connected, a good option is to boot into safe boot mode and also disconnect your cable and then run a scan. This sometimes helps but not always.
    • .tmp files are temporary files to be used for temporary information; however that does not mean that some program (including malware) does not use them for something else.
    • When you run the READ & RUN ME and attach all the logs so we can see if you really have an infection, we will be better able to answer this. Quite often people blame things on malware when it is not always malware.
