I have ran FixIEDef and it seemed to have worked, but it then showed up again. I have attached an updated HijackThis log, hoping someone can take a look and suggest any help. I appreciate the help. Thanks again.

    Hi steve!
    Welcome to Major Geeks!

You are running two antivirus programs. Uninstall one of them before you do anything further. If you wish to uninstall AVG, go to add/remove programs and uninstall it. If you wish to uninstall Nortons / Symantec, use the following tool:

    Norton Removal Tool (SymNRT)

After you've completed this, please reboot your computer and try running the FixIEDef with your computer disconnected from the internet (unplug it) and your antivirus turned off.

When you have finished, reactivate your antivirus program before you reconnect your computer to the internet.

Let me know how this goes.

    Hi steve,
Were you able to run FixIEDef ? I see the one file associated with it is gone from hijackthis, but it was already missing a file by your second hijackthis.

In order for us to help you further with any accuracy, it's necessary for you to run through the instructions in our READ & RUN ME FIRST

This will produce a set of logs that will tell us if there are any files left over that still need to be deleted, and more importantly, it will tell us if there are those viruses which don't show up in HijackThis at all. The way you ran hijackthis, without renaming it, allows certain viruses to evade detection.

    Thanks.
    abri
