Not sure how this started on 12-1-12. I use PC Tools Spyware Doctor with Anti-virus. Every 2 minutes I would get a pop-up telling me that it has stopped Countless tracking cookies (at least 80 or more) and it has quarantined Trojan.ZeroAccess found in C:Recycler, which of course could not be viewed or deleted. To see these pop-up’s every 2 minutes was driving me nuts.
I ran RogueKiller, Malwarebytes Anti-Malware, and ComboFix. It seemed to do the trick. The whole folder was gone and quarantined.
Low and behold, the folder is back and again, I cannot delete or view the other folder contents.
So I ran: RogueKiller, Malwarebytes Anti-Malware, TDSSKiller, HitmanPro, MGtools.
No doubt, I’m panicked, as this is my business computer with a lot of files. (I probably should get a server)
    Nevertheless, attached are the logs.
Can you take a look and let me know what you see.
    Thank you
    Anne

    Welcomt to Major Geeks!

If you run Malwarebytes again, do the below still show up or were the really fixed?
    Code:
    Registry Keys Detected: 1
    HKCR\CLSID\{D5DE8D20-5BB8-11D1-A1E3-00A0C90F2731} (Trojan.MSIL) -> Quarantined and deleted successfully.
    Files Detected: 1
    C:\WINDOWS\system32\ieobject.dll (Trojan.MSIL) -> Quarantined and deleted successfully.

Please download Junkware Removal Tool to your desktop.
    • Shut down your protection software now to avoid potential conflicts.
    • Run the tool by double-clicking it. If you are using Windows Vista or Seven, right-mouse click it and select Run as Administrator.
    • The tool will open and start scanning your system.
    • Note: That JRT may reset your home page to a google default so you will need to restore your home page setting if this happens.
    • Please be patient as this can take a while to complete depending on your system's specifications.
    • On completion, a log (JRT.txt) is saved to your desktop and will automatically open.
    • Attach JRT.txt to your next message.

Now we need to use ComboFix
    • Make sure that combofix.exe that you downloaded while doing the READ & RUN ME is on your Desktop but Do not run it!
      • If it is not on your Desktop, the below will not work.
    • Also make sure you have shut down all protection software (antivirus, antispyware...etc) or they may get in the way of allowing ComboFix to run properly.
    • If ComboFix tells you it has expired or need to be updated to a new version, make sure you allow it to update.
    • Open Notepad and copy/paste the text in the below quote box into it:
    • Save the above as CFscript.txt and make sure you save it to the same location (should be on your Desktop) as ComboFix.exe
    • At this point, you MUST EXIT ALL BROWSERS NOW before continuing!
    • You should have both the ComboFix.exe and CFScript.txt icons on your Desktop.
    • Now use your mouse to drag CFscript.txt on top of ComboFix.exe
    • Follow the prompts.
    • When it finishes, a log will be produced named c:\combofix.txt
    • I will ask for this log below
    Note:

Do not mouseclick combofix's window while it is running. That may cause it to stall.

If after running Combofix you discover none of your programs will open up because you recieve the following error: Illegal operation attempted on a registry key that has been marked for deletion then you will need to reboot your computer which will normally fix this problem.

Now run the C:\MGtools\GetLogs.bat file by double clicking on it (Note: if using Vista or Win7, don't double click, use right click and select Run As Administrator).

    Then attach the below logs:
    • JRT.txt
    • C:\ComboFix.txt
    • C:\MGlogs.zip
Make sure you tell me how things are working now!

Followed your directions exactly as written.
The Recylcer folder is still there, but PC tools isn't blaring up with virus alerts. Everything appears to be working well.
Malwarebytes Showed No Malicious Items detected.
    Attaching the 3 files.
Please let me know if they look good.
    THANK YOU! -- Very Much
    Anne

The Recycler folder is supposed to be there. It is part of Windows.

You did not run ComboFix as requested with the CFScript.txt file. You just ran ComboFix.exe and thus no fixes occurred. You need to run from the ComboFix part thru to the end again. You may need to download a fresh copy of ComboFix first because it may have expired now and will only work in reduced functionality mode which will not fix anything.

Also you need to put ComboFix.exe directly into your Desktop folder as requested. Not in the below location where you last ran it from

    c:\documents and settings\User\Local Settings\Temp\DM\Combofix_036\Software\Combofix.exe
