Trojandumper + Trojanclicker

A while back, a good friend of mine had me look at his computer, and I noticed it wasn't getting windows updates...and I couldn't get it working, but I didn't worry about it much, he still had Norton installed, and I didn't pay a lot of attention...also, for some reason or another, at this time I had turned of the "normal start mode" and forgotten about it...

And then *another* av caught some trojans, on a copy of his files we were putting on another pc...and also, anytime he did a Norton scan, it would go into a loop or something, at some music file...

So yesterday he says it's *again* running really slow and also that there was some popup that said: "You have 3 trojans" or something, so I figured I had better post it on here, as maybe I am missing something...

So I went thru all the requested steps...but I had forgotten I didn't have startup in normal mode, so I put it in normal, and ran all 4 scans again....and I am enclosing tabs...it did finally start allowing updates, but I don't think it's quite right...

Thankyou for all the help you give us...

Re: Trojandumper + Trojanclicker(*HAD* to bump!)

This is just to let you know, that while I was waiting on my thread to get up to the front of the line, I was blowing out all the accumulated *dust* in this computer, and reinstalling ram...somehow, upon reboot, I fried either the cpu or the motherboard, so I had to *remove* the HD, and install in another computer.

Even malware ridden, these are very important files to this man: he is a college professor and a writer, with years of writing and stuff, which is why I'm making such an effort to salvage all this, rather than just "chunk it" and reboot w/new OS....

But *anyway*, I have all these his "Documents" and stuff, on another computer, and I am going out there to his house today, to run all the "Read me Now" malware prevention, so my question is: Should I just repost in this thread, or, start a new thread?

Either way, I'm cool with it: you guys have helped me too much...and btw, the only reason I "bumped" now, was so you didn't go to unnecessary work going thru *these* files, when the computer is, well, "expired..." ;-)

    As always, thankyou!

Post what in this thread? The How to protect yourself from malware sticky does not ask you to post anything.

By the way the logs you attached did not show any malware.

No: I had found two trojan droppers in this computer--w/eset--when I first ran some scans...and updates were turned off, and norton wasn't working...and then Pandacloud, which I had installed after Norton, found most of the the same trojans, and some spyware...and the computer seemed kind of iffy, so I brought it home, ran the "read me 1st" thread and ran the MG scans again, and decided to post them on here, as I thought computer was still screwed up...but like I said, I fried it, and have the HD,

And I appreciate the comeback, and letting me know...I finally got in boot camp, over in Spywareinfo--after reading up on "how to be a helper" on here, so I'll just lug this HD along w/me...give me something to work on...

You've helped me before, and I just didn't want to, u know, leave this thread hanging...anyway, thanks for letting me know they were clean...
