Hello again, Oh Great Malware Removal Masters! I'm working with a friend's niece on her senior project. The first day working on it, she informed me that she can't type her paper or do college research since her family's computer was messed up and asked if I could take a look at it. AYE! IT IS BAD! Part of the problem is a younger sister who lives on Limewire and a mother who likes to get tipsy and play on the puter at wee hours of the morning. Both of them are likely to have clicked on anything that moved on the screen. :-D So, at first no internet was working. I tried booting into safe mode several times with no success. Finally got it to reboot with the last known good config. and was able to get online, only to find that everything is being blocked or re-directed by their infection. AVG was also being blocked. Updated Java, cleaned out some misc. programs, removed Limewire and all the BAD AV's like "Antivirus 2009", etc., to the best of my ability. After removing this stuff I'm seeing AVG running again (but I'm unable to update it due to the blocked internet connection). Continued on with the XP cleaning procedure and surprisingly I was able to make it through most of it! Some notes: - Spybot wouldn't install - kept getting a network error during installation. - SAS was first run without updating (I manually updated it later and started to run it again but this time had to manually quit since I had to leave due to "family issues" that were going on in the room). First log will be attached. -MBAM never made it through a scan. Kept getting the error "722 (0,7)" and eventually had to manually reboot since MBAM locked. - Combofix and MGtools both ran successfuly. So here's the logs...again, MBAM wouldn't finish, so no MBAM log at this time. Thanks in advance. Your advice and knowledge are greatly appreciated!!!
