trouble emailing pictures from "My Pictures"

I am running WIN XP, and suddenly find I cannot email photos from My Pictures. It looks like the image is copied, but no email with attached picture to send ever appears. Any ideas? Thanks

 

I had this problem after I uninstalled Microsoft Word. After I rightclicked the image and chose --Send to --mail recipient nothing happened. Some photo utilities only work with Office Outlook even tho I use Outlook Express. I also had this problem on 2 laptops using Vista, they both had a lot of photo programmes installed and I went to set file defaults and altered all the JPG and other photo file extensions to the program associated with the camera. This solved the problem. You need to explore the file defaults and make sure they are linked to the correct program. If you google "Change the default program for a specific file extension in windows XP" you should find help. The about.com site has a good explanation and help.
