Trouble installing Quicktime+iTunes

Hey, first post here, looking for some help. I tried to update iTunes recently, and whenever I try to install it, when it attempts to install Quicktime (Which is included without an option) and getting to the final stages. I get the blue screen of death:

AMD Athlon Xp 2400+ 2.00GHz
786 MB of RAM
NVIDIA GeForce 6800 GS/XT
Windows SP2 XP Home Edition

Had this computer since 2002 by the way. I need a new one -_-
