Just recently, some sites are extremely slow opening, while others don't open at all. I cleaned out system with CC and checked for viruses and malware. I can't find any. Adelphia is changing over to Road Runner this month but that doesn't explain why some pages open and some don't. Any suggestions please advice...thanks in advance.

I ran disk defrag and followed the instructions per Microsoft listed on the read this first forum.

Some pages are still slow opening or not opening at all.

And I went to Microsoft website to check on any critical downloads that I missed and I got this

    [Error number: 0x80072EE2]
The website has encountered a problem and cannot display the page you are trying to view. The options provided below might help you solve the problem.

    Any other suggestions?:cry

When Sprint/Earthlink went to Embarq we had service problems. They sent us a new DSL Modem, blamed it on lightning, took some charges off of our bill that shouldn't have been there...
Still no Internet, we switched to a broadband connection, and also did away with the land line. Frustrating when you think the problem is on your end of the line, and it is the provider that can't get their act together, or at least let you know that it is their problem, and they are working on it.
Good to have neighbors that you can check with to see if their connection is up and running, and more than one computer in the house so you will know if it is an isolated incident, a denial of service problem, or your ISP. The cable broadband company has always been good with helping resolve issues, but it don't come cheap.

I downloaded Comodo and ran the program. It found one adware and one virus. Now my computer is running great but I can't say if it was the program or if Road Runner had something to do with it. Oh well, doesn't hurt to run programs to clean out everything. Thanks.
