Trouble playing you tube videos ?

Been having trouble playing youtube videos. Running windows XP pro. Using internet explorer * and I also tried google Chrome. Do not get an error message the videos just keep trying to load but never do. Did a google search and tried some fixes but not working. I can play other videos from like Yahoo's music videos. Please help ?

Try to update your Adobe Flash Player. I had a similar problem with Flash 10.2 and had to revert back to Flash 9.

 

I tried uninstalling adobe flash player 10 last night but could not get version 9 or any version to download for that matter. Will try again tonight. Thanks for the help !!

 

Now i cant get any version of flash player to install. When I try the most current it downloads the installer and then says download configuration failed. What a pian. Why can't things just work !!! Anyone have any ideas ?

Sometimes the simplest answer is right. As you've had issues downloading the Flash installer, it appears that perhaps your internet connection is experiencing issues with downloading files (which Youtube depends on, in order to play the videos, as well).

Have you tried resetting your modem and/or router and/or computer's connection? Are you able to download other files? You can always test out downloading files by downloading any program that MG hosts (www.majorgeeks.com for file downloads).

Another thing you can do is clear your cache in your browser(s), and also run CCleaner on default settings (only the cleaner portion would pertain, I believe... none of the extras in the program).

Another thing... have you checked Windows Update lately? Perhaps your NIC has an updated driver, or something. Be sure to check out the Optional Updates as well.

I can imagine how frustrating your situation is, and I hope you're able to resolve it soon!

 

I have reset my modem and router several times.

Other files seem to download OK. I downloaded PC decrapifier from here and only took a few seconds.

I have cleared cache and ran CCcleaner.

I have all windows updates except one the will never work. Always says it failed. It is " Security Update For Windows XP ( KB2509553 ) " . Not sure why it will never work but that has been for a while.

The first file for flash player will download OK, just when it runs the installer it says " Download configuration failed ". I did a google search and others had had this problem but none of the fixes work for me.

I called micro soft and spent an hour on the phone and was told I need a level 2 tech. At that time I was out of time so needed to call back. Ask about hours and they said 24/7. Well I call last night and they were not open !!!

Anyways I got adobe flash player to load finally but still youtube videos will not play. Funny thing is sometimes if there is and add at the beginning the add will play but the video will not.

Any ides on how to resolve this. I have google chrome also which comes with it's own venison of flash player and they will not play on that either.

 

Well I talked to another tech at Microsoft and they fixed my update issues. Now have ALL updates but you tube will still not play videos . I can play videos on all others sites. Anyone have any ides ? This is very ODD !!! Like I said below if the video has an add before the video the add will play but the video will not. Anyone know where I can go to help get this fixed ?
