I was told to come over to come over to software after having my computer cleaned of malware.

My aol.com is not working correctly. A lot of the images all of the sudden one day just stopped being able to be viewed. I will refresh the page many times. The check marks next to the mail and other things just aren't working. I am now noticing that other websites aren't coming up correctly. Text are being shot down vertically instead of across. It's just been acting weird.

    Any help with this?

    Thank you.

What browser are you using? Does the same thing occur using a different browser? What OS?

    FireFox

I just tried internet explorer and it views fine!

Microsoft Windows XP Professional.. Version 2002.. Service Pack 3 (is that what you needed?)

I needed the OS just in case the problem was with Internet Explorer.

But, because it is with firefox, that makes the problem a little easier as it can be fully uninstalled and reinstalled but before you do that do the following.

Go to Tools>options. Under Advanced, uncheck "Use hardware acceleration when available". Does this solve the problem?

Edit: forgot to say restart firefox after unchecking the box.

I came in late on my last post. Just to confirm you did restart firefox correct? If you did and it still did not work do the following. Open firefox, click help>restart firefox with add-ons disabled.

yup.. that worked. Is it not running correctly since I had to uncheck what you told me?

Are you saying it worked after disabling your add-ons or restarting after unchecking hardware acceleration?

Sorry.. it worked after I unchecked hardware acceleration and restarted FireFox.

Sometimes firefox has trouble with certain graphics cards. If you check the box again and restart firefox, does the problem come back?

nevermind.. just went back to being weird again.

EDIT: so I tried it with the add-ons disabled and it seems to be back to normal.

    Suggestions?

When you disabled add-ons, was that with hardware acceleration or without? If you disable add-ons with hardware acceleration checked, does the problem go-away?

So I turned back on the hardware thing and restarted firefox with add-ons disabled. Still working fine.

That tells me there is an add-on conflict. I would start firefox normally with hardware acceleration enabled.

Go to the Add-ons manager and in extensions disable all extensions except one by clicking the disable button. Then restart firefox. If everything is okay, disable that extension and enable the next, only having one extension enabled at a time. Do this for every extension and look for any problems by browsing your sites.

If you cannot find the extension using the above method then enable one extension at a time, restarting firefox each time an extension is enabled. Do this until all extensions are enabled or you see a conflict. The extension could possible be conflicting with another extension.

I gotcha.. well there was this searchqu toolbar which was malware so I just simply removed that one.

That only left me with Microsoft Framework Assistant.

Do you use Framework Assistant? Did you try disabling it and seeing if you still have the problem?

Edit: Found this: I would uninstall if not needed.

I have been so busy at work recently. I am hoping to address it next Thursday. After all of the help you have given me, I can't just let it hang out there until we have exhausted all options.
