Trouble with me HP Deskjet F4235 All-in-One

Ok, so I buy this printer and bring it home, installing it when i get home. Now, it prints the test page fine, then all of a sudden after I follow the instructions and set things up like they should, I get an error when i try to print anything using its program called HP Photosmart Essentials. It keeps saying "No Printer Currently Installed." And I've installed everything cause its listed on my computer. Anytime I try to print something from anywhere it closes the program, BUT, I CAN copy items from the scanner. Which is odd. I am running windows Vista Home Basic 32-bit with a dual core processor

 

Im new to this bord but cannot find anyplace for me to post my first question. can you please direct me as to placeing my first post. Thank you Sal

 

try to un install printer and all the software that came on the disk. use either the icon it put in start menu to uninstall it or go to control panel and use add and remove program. restart the computer and re install the printer, printer only not any extra software. If the printer works then you can install the extra stuff one program at a time making sure each one works before you install the rest.

 

That didn't work at all. I wonder if i just have to try and return everything and get a different one

 

it sounds like a conflict with vista and your printer drivers but since it's new that may not be a bad idea, however if you get a new one and the same problem arises pleas come back and we will try something else

 

Yeah well it said the drivers installed ok. and it says my printer was installed, yet the things just wasn't reading it and causing erors that closed wordpad and notepad. I even recently had an error that woulnd't even let me OPEN a wordpad document. It stopped when i uninstalled everything though, so my computer is fine. I'm going to go get a lexmark instead of a HP this time. And what's bad is i have the requirements...more than enough, for the HP one. so that was just odd. Here's hoping the lexmark behaves. I have a Brother printer that installed fine, so its just weird.

 

Welp, I returned that printer and got my money back, no problem. I went and bought a cheaper, Lexmark All-in-One, and guess what. It works. Not a problem in sight, except that it came with a color cartridge but not a black and white lol. so i gotta buy one soon. Other than that, I'm happy now. Thanks for the advice even if it didnt work.
