Troubles

    Hello All,

    The troubles started when I attempted to update a program and hit the wrong "download" button. I thought I cleaned up all the stuff that was loaded. Then today, I went to update Panda Cloud and suddenly Panda stopped working.

    I ran the malware removal programs and have attached the logs for your review. Your help, as always, is greatly appreciated.

    Hi Lisa.

    Double-click RogueKiller.exe to run. (Vista/7 right-click and select Run as Administrator)
    When it opens, press the Scan button
    Now click the Registry tab and locate this detection:

    • [V2][SUSP PATH] BackgroundContainer Startup Task : "C:\Windows\SysWOW64\Rundll32.exe" - "C:\Users\Lisa\AppData\Local\Conduit\BackgroundContainer\BackgroundContainer.dll",DllRun [-][x][x] -> FOUND

    Place a checkmark each of these items, leave the others unchecked.
    Now press the Delete button.
    When it is finished, there will be a log on your desktop called: RKreport[2].txt
    Attach RKreport[2].txt to your next message. (How to attach)
    Reboot the machine.




    Re run Hitman and have it delete Potential Unwanted Programs.

    • Shut down your protection software now to avoid potential conflicts.
    • Run the tool by double-clicking it. If you are using Windows Vista or Seven, right-mouse click it and select Run as Administrator.
    • The tool will open and start scanning your system.
    • Please be patient as this can take a while to complete depending on your system's specifications.
    • On completion, a log (JRT.txt) is saved to your desktop and will automatically open.
    • Attach JRT.txt to your next message.



    Now run the C:\MGtools\GetLogs.bat file by double clicking on it. (Right click and run as admin if using Vista, Windows7 or Win8) Then attach the new C:\MGlogs.zip file that will be created by running this.

    Let me know of any problems you may have encountered with the above instructions and also let me know how things are running now!

    Hey, thanks for your assistance. I did everything you outlined, and things have improved. I have attached the logs you mentioned.

    My one remaining problem is Panda Cloud Antivirus. It has deactivated itself, and I cannot reactivate it or uninstall it. I have written to the company for support and they sent me a nice email basically telling me I am on my own. If you have any ideas about how to get the program off my computer I would appreciate it. I attached a snapshot of the error message that comes up when I attempt to open Panda or uninstall it.

    Update - wanted to let you know that I finally uninstalled Panda Cloud - found a special uninstaller on their support forum. It appears I am not the only one having this problem.
