Trying to change .vob file .avi to work on pda ?

Can anyone help , i am trying to copy a dvd from my PC to my PDA but I can not change the format from a .vob file to a .avi so my PDA can read it , can anybody surgest how i get round this problem.

Have u tried to rip the DVD first then convert the video file ( for example .avi ) with a software like Pocket Divx Encoder : http://www.pocketdivxencoder.net/telechargement.php?version=0.3.96
It's Multilingual, free, and vista compatible, no installation needed too i'm using it a few year ago
