I started receiving bogus e-mails yesterday with the 2 viruses I listed in the subject line.

At first there was no indication where they were coming from, but when I researched the bug - I discovered it was coming from someone I knew.

This morning the bug had changed. It is now able to use the person's screen name as the sender.

I was still able to catch the virus before getting infected, and now I know who has the virus.

I sent him 2 Symantec links for both versions of the bug, but I was curious if anyone knows which of the freeware scanners MG has that can remove it for him.

(I know the link also provides a removal tool, but trust me - the easier it is for him, the better)

    Thanks,

    LAIGo

    Thanks for the link.

Would you happen to know if A squared, Spybot S&D, Adaware, or Avast remove it?

Not sure! But I would so there is no chance that Ad-aware or Spybot remove it. Maybe on A-squared and Avast.
