Ok so this is the thing i was referring to in my `pointless` thread.
I love firefox but decided to change to Opera as i find Firefox lags my netbook down abit, and i`ve been trying for the past 2hrs to import the bookmarks.
After looking in the places i knew they would/should be i couldn`t see them, so i went `researching on the net` to find out where they should be located and they should be located where i thought they should be.:-D
Now the problem i`m have is i can`t find the AppData section on my HD.I`ve gone to c:/User/`myaccount` but i can`t see them, they where excluded from being indexed,so i rebuilt my index, still said the same, so i unchecked the box so it won`t exclude them, yet still can`t see them.
I know this may sound stupid, and i sort of know it is, but then again so is the fact i can`t see them, but could it be to do with me using windows 7 starter?
Can anybody help me please?Any help is greatly appreciated.

    Thanks:major

You can export your bookmarks in Firefox by going to "Organize Bookmarks", click the Import and Backup button at the top. There you can export the bookmarks to either html or json. I've never use Opera but I would guess there is a way to import one of the two files.

Also have you looked at PaleMoon as a browser. It is a lighter weight version of Firefox. It's all I have been using for about two months now.

    1. Open a window showing your user directory, and click Organize and pick "folder and search options".

    2. Go to the View tab.

    3. Under Advanced Settings, move the little blue circle to "show hidden files, folders and drives"

    4. Click "Apply to Folders" to apply this to all folders, then click the Apply button.

    5. Click the OK button and refresh the folder window.

    :)

I;m not sure if Win7 starter makes a difference, all windows have that data. Try ,,Run,type in %appdata%.

It looks like Opera wants bookmarks in an HTML file.
Try in FF Going the orange FF button and choosing Bookmarks and then Open all Bookmarks.
Then at the top of that bookmark window choose Import and Export and then Export to HTML. Save the file on your desktop.

Then import them to Opera maybe using this as a guide http://browsers.about.com/od/op3/ss/opfoxwindows.htm unless you already have an easier more recent or one page guide.
