Trying to update my XP

I'm trying to update my Microsoft XP Pro, ver. 2002, SP2. I keep on getting the following Error Message.

My system is a Dell with XP Pro Ver 2002 SP2 ????

Go to start, run and type each command, hitting Enter after each.

regsvr32 wucltui.dll
regsvr32 wups.dll

regsvr32 wuweb.dll

 

I tried instuctions above and i'm still getting the same error message. Anything else I can do?

 

What type of security software are you using? I have seen proxy settings and certain "footprint hiding" software like "Ghostsurf" cause this type of thing in the past...

 

I'm using Mcafee and Windows defender.

What are the chances the dial a FIX might work. Is it known to fix this type of problem?

Anybody have any idea what might cause microsoft to think my system is a MAC?

 

I've had Dial.A.Fix fix Windows updates problems MANY times. Simply check the box to repair Windows Update and everything in the registration center (I usually also check the SSL boxes also). You can't possibly do any harm using DAF. It just repairs and registers files already on your PC and never adds or removes anything. Definitely worth a try.
