tsunami

there has been a large earthquake of the coast of japan. we are now under a tsunami warning. (aparently IF it hits, it will be about 1:00 AM)

i should be ok, as i am at least 250ft above sea level, and at least half a mile from the coast, but you never know!! just thought i'd let you all know, more coz the possibility of no electric etc, than any real danger. so fingers crossed everybody. much aloha

 

u know what magnitude it was? last time (few months ago) they had a big earthquake, a city about 50 miles north of me got hit by a tsunami, really thrashed the harbor, sank and damaged some boats

 

8.3 Alaska has also issued a warning a few minutes ago.

 

They are saying the first few waves have washed up on the beaches and there is no visible changes to sea level.

 

well im still here. lol. been watching the news, but no reports on any damage anywhere. we didnt even wait up for it!! one day its gonna happen though!!

That is why I prefer cyclones, to tsunamis, hurricanes, tornadoes and floods.
At least you usually get 2-3 days notice with a cyclone.

Glad "your" tsunami turned into a fizzer.
