    The computer is winning.:(

I completed the "Read and Run first" file. Most of it worked. I couldn't get "CCleaner" file to save but it ran and nothing came up. I can't get the "GetRunKey" or "ShowNew" files to run even though I unzipped them. I know I have a Vundamonde "Vundo" on my computer and have ran through the steps using "Vundofix" to remove it. When it appears to be gone, it returns from the dead again! Pleeeassseeeee help.

    Hi and Welcome to Majorgeeks!

You need to really follow the guide to the letter as your Hijackthis log file is created from exactly were we tell you not to install it ( C:\Documents and Settings\Shane\Desktop\HijackThis.exe ) and without its name change as the type of malware your espriencing can hide itself from HJT when not renamed, as for Shownew and Getrunkeys, what error mesages were you given on running?

Dont worry about CCleaner as we do not need that log, but we do need one from AVG Antispy or Counterspy.

    • Run ALL the steps in this Sticky thread READ & RUN ME FIRST Before Asking for Support
    • Make sure you check version numbers and get all updates.
    • Very Important: Make sure you tell us the results from running the tutorial...was anything found? Were you unable to complete any of the scans?...Were you unable to download any of the tools?...Did you do the on-line scans as suggested? etc.
    • After doing ALL of the above you still have a problem make sure you have booted to normal mode and run the steps in the below link to properly use HijackThis and attach a log:
    Downloading, Installing, and Running HijackThis

Make sure you also rename HijackThis.exe as suggested in the procedures. Use analyse.exe for the new name. This is very important due to some new infections going around.

    • When you return to make your next post, make sure you attach the following logs and that you have run these scans in the following order too:
      • CounterSpy
      • AVG Antispyware log - ONLY IF NEEDED you were not able to run CounterSpy
      • Bitdefender - from step 6
      • Panda Scan - from step 6
      • runkeys.txt - the log from GetRunKey.bat
      • newfiles.txt - the log from ShowNew.bat
      • HijackThis
NOTE: You can only attach 3 files in a single message so it will require that you use two messages to attach all of these logs!

Hello and thanks for the response! We were able "disable" it hiding as a "Browser Help Object" under "Manage Add Ons" and VundoFix was able to identify vtsqn.dll and cbxyxuu.dll files and we were finally able to move those files. This appears to have gotten the virus under control. Thanks for you help.

That does not mean that you have removed all traces from your system. To be certain, please follow Halo's instructions and post the requested logs.:)
