I'm having problems with these programs. It seems that javascript is malfunctioning, which causes integrator.exe for TU2008 to malfunction. Also, javascript errors are causing problems with IE7. Facebook, YouTube, email and other sites wont allow popup windows or other javascript actions. I've reviewed my Internet Java settings (everything is enabled). I cant seem to track what is causing program and IE7 problems. Any of this sound familiar? Thank you for your help!!!

Thank you very much for posting this. I found your question when searching for an answer to similar problems with the TuneUp integrator not functioning, and with getting script errors and lock-outs upon certain web-sites, including Rapidshare. You put me on to the scent of a javascript error being the common factor.
My solution was to run Autopatcher again: I have recently installed a new hard drive and put my operating system back on it. Autopatcher is a program which can be downloaded for easily updating the OS; unfortunately Microsoft have barred its continuing development, but the latest versions from last August are still available (google Autopatcher download). After this and a restart all was well.
I think the crucial component was Windows Script 5.7, which in turn contains JScript® Version 5.7. Versions of this for the different Windows systems can be downloaded from Microsoft and elsewhere.

thanx for the advice..........what I ended up doing is using the upgrade feature on my vista install disk. whatever file was corrupted was overwritten with a clean file. everything seems to be working fine now!

I'm glad it's working for you, jbass; I did try reinstalling Internet Explorer earlier, but to no avail!

Thank you for the link, Sharagoz; I'm not sure whether I need the full Java or not at the moment. I have a freshly installed and updated Windows 2000 on a Pentium 3 machine which seems quite efficient, but I don't want to load it more than is necessary. My impression is that bits of Java are incorporated into Microsoft programs, such as Windows, Internet Explorer and Windows Script, hence the Sun - Microsoft law suit. I was wondering whether to use the latest Java, an older one, the Microsoft Java virtual machine, or just rely on what is incorporated; the older versions can be a lot lighter on resources.

    Any advice would be welcome!

Jv16 Powertools (macecraft.com) everything claimed for it, and more. Has loads of options to get things cleaned up SAFELY, and in good order. I've been using it for many years, and it has never failed.

I've just ran 'autopatcher' in an attempt to fix similar problems and now after a reboot I'm being asked for my windows login and password which as far as I can remember is a first. I've tried all my usual login/password combinations without success. Any ideas if this is likely to be something I have set in the past or a system login from the initial installation?
