    Hey guys,

I am going to build a PC for my girlfriend in the near future, but not quite yet. Her TV just died, so I was wondering, what if she went ahead and purchased an LCD monitor for her future computer and could use it now as a TV?

Once she has a PC, we could get a TV tuner card or something similar. But is there any way to watch a TV signal from coax cable on an LCD monitor with a PC? Like some kind of adapter that allows you to go from coax > VGA or coax > DVI, etc? If there was some way to have a remote, that'd obviously be nice. I tried looking at monitors with TV tuners, but they are a little pricey-- spending that kind of money would justify just buying a monitor AND a dedicated TV.

Just a thought I had-- any way it's viable?
